A: Please make all cheques payable to Fanshawe College Foundation.

Q: What credit cards do you accept for donations?
A: We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. We also accept donations via cheque, cash, and securities.

Q: I have a question about my donation to Fanshawe. Who can I contact?

Q: How will Fanshawe College Foundation put my gift to work?
A: Wherever Fanshawe College’s need is the greatest, that’s where your gift will come into action. The Fanshawe College Foundation Board of Governors, working closely with Senior Leadership of the College, determines the areas of highest priority need. However, we know that many of our donors have had a special experience with a certain program. We’d be happy to speak with you about directing your gift to a particular area or initiative.

Q: What recognition will I receive for my gift?
A: We recognize all donors who give through Fanshawe Funder on the project page that was supported.  If you'd prefer to remain anonymous, please use the 'make this donation anonymous' checkbox on the donation form.

All other gifts are to be recognized according to our Stewardship standards and Gift Agreements.

Tax Receipts

Q: Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation to Fanshawe College?
A: Fanshawe College Foundation issues charitable tax receipts for eligible donations in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.
Note: The Canada Revenue Agency website has useful tools and information about charitable giving and what types of gifts qualify for charitable tax receipts.

If you have any questions about whether your gift will be eligible for a tax receipt, please contact our Office Administrator at 519-452-4430 x3938.

Q: When will I receive my tax receipt?
A: If you mailed in your donation, our Advancement Services team typically sends out receipts within 14 days of receiving the gift.  During peak times of giving (i.e. holiday giving season and during large-scale events), receipts may take slightly longer to arrive in the mail.

If you gave online, your electronic tax receipt will be emailed to you immediately of your donation being processed.  Please be sure to check your junk mail folder too.  If your receipt does not arrive within 24 hours, please contact our Gift Processing Specialist at kdsmith@fanshawec.ca.

For monthly donors or donors who give through a gift of insurance, one consolidated tax receipt will be sent out annually in February, unless otherwise discussed with the donor.

Q: I would like to donate to Fanshawe this calendar year and receive a tax receipt. What is the deadline?
A: If you are considering making a donation before the end of the year, please keep in mind the following deadlines in order to receive a charitable tax receipt for the 2020 tax year:
December 10, 2020 - Deadline for donating gifts of securities to Fanshawe College Foundation to allow time for processing before the end of the year.
December 31, 2020 - Deadline for donations made by cheque. Cheques may be received into the first week of January but the cheque must be dated on or before December 31st
and the envelope must be postmarked on or before December 31.

December 31, 2020 - Deadline for online donations. Online donations greater than $20, received on or before December 31, 2020 will be provided an electronic 2020 tax receipt.

Donor Privacy & Accountability

Q: Will you share my personal contact information or giving history with others?
A:  No, we respect your privacy and do not sell or trade donor information. Please refer to the Foundation’s Privacy Policy. 

Q: How can I get a copy of the Fanshawe College Foundation Annual Report?
A: Please contact our Office Administrator Laura Visconti at 519-452-4430 x3938 and she will arrange to get you a copy. Alternatively, you may view all Annual Reports.
